Jeans, Jeans, Jeans

A challange most of us have is finding the perfect pair of jeans (well a challange for most of us except from those lucky people who can throw on anything and fall under the saying "they'd look good in a bin-bag")

Bootcut jeans, Skinny Jeans, Flared Jeans, High-Waisted Jeans, Straight-leg Jeans...... the list goes on, and with so many different styles, brands, sizings you could take forever to find your perfect pair of Jeans.

Thankfully nowadays, most designers inform you of the sizings and will state wether they styles run true to size or wether to go up or down a size so it does make it alot easier when searching for your ideal jeans.

I've decided to focus this post on looking at Topshop's jeans and size guides, as Topshop probably is alot of peoples number one choice in the High-street (I know it's mine)

So here's the dilema,
What style should I go for?, What brand should I get?, What size am I?

Your starting point should be either measuring yourself (if you feel confident enough to do so) or get a professional to measure you, most stores will offer a measuring service, so don't be afraid to ask!
If you don't have a clue how to measure yourself then here's a guide that's available on Topshop's website which will take you through the process :-

Although it's great to get measured and know your body's measurements, always remember that you may be different sizes depending on what brands you are trying on. Different designers can design to different sizings and different materials can alter the size your are so in order to get a perfectly fitted pair of jeans you really always should try them on to be sure and to ultimatly be happy.

I have lots of different jeans by different brands and all of the sizes vary. I have also even found that having two pairs of jeans in the same size by the same designer that the fits have been very differen too, this is to do with the two jeans being slightly different cuts, i.e. skinny fit and slim fit

My advice - So, when searching for your new jeans, get measured and then find a few different shapes/styles of jeans by a few different brands that you like, try them on and then eliminate the ones you don't feel comfortable / like on and you should find your ideal pair.

It may seem like a whole lot of hassle searching for your perfect jeans but I can say it is really worth it when you find them and what a great feeling you will have when you first show off in your perfect pair of jeans.

Take one white tank top..........

A classic white tank top is a must have piece for your capsule wardrobe. I love this white pocket tank top from Alexander Wang. The material of this tank is a heavenly soft cotton and as it's made in a baggy fitting style it's really comfy on.

The best thing about a classic white tank top is that it really will go with everying and being so versatile, you can easily transfer this from a day-time casual look to a night-time dressy look with a little help with some nice jewellery and teaming the whole look with heels!

I've picked out some individual pieces that I would team my vest with (as pictured above).
Here's what I selected:-

J Brand Houlihan Jeans - cargo jeans have taken over from the Boyfriend and skinny jeans. These jeans have had a cult following amongst many celebs and it's no wonder why as these are gorgeous. They are perfect for wearing on a summers day with your tank top, aviator sunglasses and sandals or by simply adding some amazing costume jewels and heels you are good to go partying in! These jeans are available in tons of different colours so you will be spoiled for choice with these.

Elizabeth and James Blazer - Blazers are a must-have. Perfect for workwear and playwear this will see you out from the office to the cocktail bar. I would through this on over my tank top and cargo jeans for shopping with friends. Adding the 'wow' factor to this classic black blazer sees these heavily embellished shoulder pads, the layers of glam gold beading will be sure to make you stand out from the crowd!

Marc by Marc Jacobs sandals - the jelly sandal trend has came back fromretirement and it looks like it's here to stay for a little while longer. All I can say is super stylish and comfy, and I just love this moss green shade. These sandals are perfect with little floaty tea dresses, maxi dresses, safari shorts, cargo / skinny jeans and the list could go on........ basically these will look great with everything so they really are worth investing in!

Les Chiffoniers Suede zip leggings - These truly are the creme-de-la-creme of the leggings world. You may think these look like another pair of plain black leggings but let me tell you they are more than that. These suede leggings are "designed to mould to and enhance your form" so they really are works of art!

L.A.M.B suede wedges - designed by the gorgeous Gwen Stefani herself these wedges are gorgeous. Wedges are taking over from the platforms and with these dusky rose pink wedges you will hot to trott. This soft pink tone will look amazing against the classic black and the current seasons shades of khaki greens and greige (across between grey and beige)!

Gorjana Peacock earrings - To add the perfect finishing touch to any outfit you always need to dress it with some amazing jewels. These earrings are just beautiful and the warm yellow gold shade makes me think of summertime and wearing them with my floaty maxi dresses on the beach.......ahhh!

Giles and Brother necklace - A classic 3-tiered necklace that will finish off your day or night-time look.

If you are going for bold chunky jewels then it's mainly best to stick to either the earrings or the necklace. Wearing heavy earrings and a chunky necklace can be too much so wear one at a time and save the other for the next time! Just remember the golden rule with oversizes jewels, "less is more"

So, with summer just around the corner, if you haven't already got your classic white tank top then what are you waiting for?

Classic but Edgy

Every girl should own at least one pair of Christian Louboutin shoes! I've been searching for a pair of classic black ones for ages and these are the ones I really want:-

This style is called 'Rolandzip' .These shoes look classic whilst the zips make them look more edgy.
Over the years, I've tried on loads of different styles of Louboutins and most of them just don't sit right on me so i'm hoping when I try these on that I will have that Cinderella and the glass slipper moment.

With my big 30th birthday coming up this year, what better shoes to celebrate in than these!

Laces are back!

Put away your buckled footware as laces is the new way to go. From military style ankle boots to platform heels, laces are back and boy do they look great.
I especially love these ones by Alexander McQueen:-
It's the laces that do all the talking in these gorgeous shoes!

Jazz up your plain black tights with some hot lace-up heels!

Ohh........it's enough to make you blush........

Recently, I've been hearing loads about this new Nars blush called 'Sex Appeal' and seen as it's going to be payday soon, i'll be heading straight to the make-up counter to try it.

Nars blush in 'Sex Appeal'

Apparantly Blake and Kylie are also fans of this new blush.

What i'm wearing now:

Currenly i've been wearing these gorgeous cheek blushes/tints (not all at once, mind you!):-

Blush

I love wearing this Missoni face highlighter. This gives off a lovely healthy sunkissed glow to my face and as it's a good sized compact, this is lasting me for ages.

Guerlain Bubble Blush in 'Rose Chamallow'
This is a lovely, fluffy cotton candy shade of pink which gives my cheeks a great pop of colour which stays with you for hours.

Tints

Benefit Benetint
What can I say, I love wearing this. Although this is a cheek and lip stain, I prefer to use it on my cheeks and not on my lips. I think it looks great on my cheeks and don't really like wearing it on my lips. This is my second bottle of this and the bottle lasts me for ages and ages.

Benefit Posietint

This is my current fave cheek stain and I wear this almost everyday. I love wearing this on my cheeks and lips. As soon as I put this on, it makes my face look more healthier so it really is great.

Most of what I currently wear on my cheeks are pinky tones so i'm looking forward to trying the new NARS 'Sex Appeal' blush as it's more of a golden, pale peach tone so be nice to wear in the summer-time when hopefully i'll be nice and bronzed after my summer holiday.

A splash of Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb Perfume

Finding your perfect perfume can take what seems like forever and once you start smelling the first few, your nose sometimes feels like it's giving up!
A perfume may smell gorgeous on someone else but not so good on you so it's always best to spray a tester on your skin and leave it for the day to see how it settles on your skin.

My mate had on a gorgeous perfume the other day and she told me it was called 'Flowerbomb' by Viktor & Rolf. I got a splash of the perfume and I loved it on me! This perfume was released a few years ago (don't know how it by-past me) and today it's more popular than ever.

Flowerbomb is described as being: "A thousand flowers in a bottle. Full-bodied and opulent, Flowerbomb eau de parfum explodes in a bouquet of sensations with its addictive floral notes which leave, their trail, like a whirlwind that is distinctly couture".

With Valentines's day fast approaching, I'll be dropping heavy hints to my Fiancee for a bottle of this gorgeous perfume!!

The Best Black accessories

Alexander McQueen laptop case ~ I love this classic case. I'd even use this as an over-sized clutch bag!!

Givency cuff ~ So very 'rock and roll'. Cuffs always look great, especially with over-sized gold-toned studs like on this one.

Balenciaga clutch bag ~ Love this! The giant silver hardware studs make this clutch stand out from all the rest.  This clutch is available in other colours although i'd go for this black with silver detailed one as i'll never get bored with it! Perfect to add some 'rock' glam to your skinny jeans and over-sized tank top or to contrast with a pretty flower print tea dress.

Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2011 Pre-Collection

Alexander Mcqueen ruffled dress as seen on the runway 2O11.

Here is some of my fave outfits from Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2011 collection:-

Ivory Halterneck dress - this is classic, romantic and just gorgeous

Leather jacket and Cargo pants - this outfit is amazing! I love this!!
Cargo pants and Jeans are a must have for 2011. These cargo pants are simple, and so easy to wear. Wear these with heels and a silk pussy-bow blouse for night-time and for day-time team these with flat sandals and an oversized vest top.

Statement print leggings - leggings are a staple piece for most of us. The monochrome colours of these leggings look great in this marble effect print.
If your leggings are plain then team them with a statement top and if the leggings have a  statement print like these then wear them with a basic top and let the leggings do all the talking.

My super early Birthday gifts

I have to have the best wee brother ever! Look at the gorgeous gifts he ordered me for my Birthday:-

 Bella Freud striped Jumper
I love stripes and fell in love with this jumper as soon as I saw it, it's just gorgeous!!!

Alexander McQueen enamel skull ring
I love all things Alexander McQueen and wanted to get this enamel ring last season in the white with black skulls however it sold out as soon as it went on sale. This is the new ring for Spring/Summer 2011 so was super excited when my brother told me her ordered me it along with the Jumper for my birthday.
My birthday actually isn't until the summer time so these are early gifts (my brother wanted to get me these as he knew they were something I loved and he thought it was easier to get me something I wanted rather than him trying to think of something else to get me)

Thank you to the best wee brother!!!!!!!!!

Sneek peek at theTopshop Unique Spring/Summer 2011 collection

Topshop Unique's Spring/Summer 2011 collection is said to be inspired by "the world of magic and wonder" Through this collection we see lots of floaty dresses, shredded denim & chiffon pieces, Knitted playsuits, perspex platform shoes, and lots of tassle and beaded embellishments.
The colours are are mainly warm autumn shades of golds & burnt oranges and the prints range from the hippie floral to a very Alexander McQueen inspired print (see images below):

From the catwalk to the high street, it looks like "big, fluffy hair is back". The best way to get this look is to crimp your hair then give it a good brush to create the fluffy effect!
