Track pants

Track pants are a must have this season so give your leggings and skinny jeans a rest and invest in a pair of track pants.

I love these track pants by French designer Isabel Marant:

I'd wear these in the day-time with a simple white tank top and some cute flat sandals then transform the look for night-time by teaming them with gorgeous heels,a statement necklace, some vibrant red lipstick and a loose wave hairstyle.

These are also available in a clean ecru colour:

Ahoy there......

In the summertime I love to put on my sailor hat and let the nautical look sail me through the warm summer months.
The nautical trend will suit almost everyone and is such an easy look to put together.

Go all out with wide-leg sailor buttoned trousers, a nautical striped blazer and finish it off with a seaman style hat or go for the more subtle look by adding in one key sailor style piece like a stripe silk vest with plain jeans.

My sailor look above has been pulled together with this-seasons hottest pieces which are all available to order now via www.farfetch.com

The pieces I pulled together are:-

Alice and Olivia stripe blazer
Balenciaga skinny fit dark blue jeans - go for the dark blue jeans for a good contrast
Givenchy red shopper bag
Giuseppe Zanotti suede espadrilles
Henrik Vibskov 'Able' seaman hat
Maison Martin Margiela brass cuff bangle
Wunderkind coin necklace
Vince drawstring linen trousers
Theory silk stripe vest

Gorgeous in Green

Green is my hot colour just now. I just can't get enough of gorgeous green things, especially in the khaki and olive shades.
Here's some of the gorgeous green things I have my eye on:-

Alexander McQueen skull scarf - this olive green scarf has a warm cream toned skull print and is made in a buttery soft modal and cashmire blend. This really is an iconic accessory that will look great with most things.

Yves Saint Laurent - These 'Tribtoo'suede pumps with the beautiful emerald green suede scream glamour!

Chanel Khaki collection nail polish. Avilable in 'Khaki Rose', 'Khaki brun' and Khaki Vert', everyone should dress there nails in these limited edition shades. I have the 'Khaki Brun' nail polish and I just love wearing it!

Oscar De La Renta dress - do 'romantic' in this amazing Green basketweave silk-gazar dress. Team this with simple black heels and a clutch and I can guarantee you will be the bell of the ball in this!

Coming Soon..........

The MAC Wonder Woman Collection

This collection is due to go on sale at Selfridges around the 17th February and at MAC around the 3rd March and i'm sure it will be a sell-out that day!
From lipgloss to mascare to nail polish, this collection has it all and 'm sure once you put it on you will feel like a wonder woman!!

I am after a classic black mascare and perhaps the false eye-lashes from this collection, so I will be online and waiting to get in fast and order them before they are all gone.

Buy it now

Warehouse is not a store I am often in but when I was walking past the store today and saw this gorgeous blouse in the window I just had to go in!

So what is so special about this blouse?......... well, first of all the silk material is so light and floaty that it makes you feel feminine and sexy. The blouse features a beautiful swallow print where the multi shades of green, purple and blue tones stand out against the clean cream silk.
The blouse has a pussy-bow tie which adds the finishing touch to it.

This is such a versatile piece for your collection as it will look great wearing to work tucked into a fitted pencil skirt and kitten heel shoe or team it with buttersoft chocolate leather shorts and chunky heeled ankle boots whilst shopping with friends.

Holding out for a bargain

Sales...... you either love them or hate them. Many bargains are to be had if you have the time and the patience to sift through the jumble looking set-up.

I suppose it depends on what kind of mood I am in wether I enjoy the sales or not. I have often got great bargains from sales and in the likes of TK Maxx. Take for example, the gorgeous black Alexander McQueen dress and Moschino jacket I got from there- I was geared up and in a "hunting out the bargain" mood that day and was so delighted when I stumbled across these.

With sales, I think if you follow the number one golden rule of "if you wouldn't want to buy it at full price then don't just buy it because its reduced" you will be fine!

I have had my eye on this gorgeous skirt by ADAM and these Alexander McQueen ankle boots for a while now and although the are now both in the sale, they are still abit pricey for me so i'm holding out to see if they reduce these some more! This is a risky strategy as too often has been the case where I have not got something I loved and then by the time I went to get it it's been gone....ooops.

I have styled my sale wishlist items above in this "summer rock" look. I've teamed the beautiful chiffon-silk skirt with a simple classic black topshop vest (the trusty faithful staple piece) and a cute Balenciaga drawstring pouch bag. The plain top lets the skirt stand out and do all the talking and the giant silver hardware detailing on the bag picks out the silver buckle detailing on the ankle boots.

Keep you all posted on wether I cave in and order these or not before they are going, going, gone!

When it comes to sunglasses................................

.........The Bigger, the better

Jackie O, she was one of the major style icons of the 60's. When you think of Jackie O the first thing you remember is the glamourous oversized sunglasses she always featured. Her sunglasses were her trademark, women everywhere were soon to be seen wearing oversized sunglasses, in the daytime or night!

Jackie O

Today, oversized sunglasses are still as popular as ever, probably even more so with more influential celebs like Victoria Beckham and the Olsen twins being featured wearing them as the seasons must have staple accessory.

I love both Aviator and oversized sunglasses so I like to alternate between the styles depending on my mood.
I prefer the plastic sunglasses as opposed to the metal frames as I feel the plastic frames are softer on my face and more comfortable for me to wear.

Here's some of this seasons hottest oversized sunglasses that are available to buy now:-

 Alexander McQueen
Ooh, I love these! These round framed black sunglasses feature an unusual ridged edge detail around the sides, it reminds me a bit like a zip! I think these are simple, classic and the detailing will make them stand out. These are from the Mode de Vue boutique in Paris and are available to order via www.farfetch.com at £239, perhaps a little bit pricey, but ooh so worth it!

Victoria Beckham
"Flard Jackie O sunglasses", well we know where these frames took there inspiration from!
The price tag for these beauties is not for the faint hearted................ these will set you back £325 and are available to order from www.netaporter.com

Balenciaga
These black plastic sunglasses are very Olsen Twin style. These will set you back £265 and are available to order via www.farfetch.com

Don't forget the High Street has a wealth of gorgeous sunglasses to choose from too. Often high street stores will try to mirror the design of there collections to model that of the designer styles so you don't need to pay designer prices for your sunglasses unless you really fall in love with something special.

Hot picks of the High Street

Topshop
Oversized sunglasses at an undersized price of £12

ASOS
At under £15, these wont break your budget!

Remember, sunglasses aren't just a fashion accessory, they are there to protect your eyes so remember to ensure they have UV protection, trust me, not only will you look good, you will feel good!

Jeans, Jeans, Jeans

A challange most of us have is finding the perfect pair of jeans (well a challange for most of us except from those lucky people who can throw on anything and fall under the saying "they'd look good in a bin-bag")

Bootcut jeans, Skinny Jeans, Flared Jeans, High-Waisted Jeans, Straight-leg Jeans...... the list goes on, and with so many different styles, brands, sizings you could take forever to find your perfect pair of Jeans.

Thankfully nowadays, most designers inform you of the sizings and will state wether they styles run true to size or wether to go up or down a size so it does make it alot easier when searching for your ideal jeans.

I've decided to focus this post on looking at Topshop's jeans and size guides, as Topshop probably is alot of peoples number one choice in the High-street (I know it's mine)

So here's the dilema,
What style should I go for?, What brand should I get?, What size am I?

Your starting point should be either measuring yourself (if you feel confident enough to do so) or get a professional to measure you, most stores will offer a measuring service, so don't be afraid to ask!
If you don't have a clue how to measure yourself then here's a guide that's available on Topshop's website which will take you through the process :-

Although it's great to get measured and know your body's measurements, always remember that you may be different sizes depending on what brands you are trying on. Different designers can design to different sizings and different materials can alter the size your are so in order to get a perfectly fitted pair of jeans you really always should try them on to be sure and to ultimatly be happy.

I have lots of different jeans by different brands and all of the sizes vary. I have also even found that having two pairs of jeans in the same size by the same designer that the fits have been very differen too, this is to do with the two jeans being slightly different cuts, i.e. skinny fit and slim fit

My advice - So, when searching for your new jeans, get measured and then find a few different shapes/styles of jeans by a few different brands that you like, try them on and then eliminate the ones you don't feel comfortable / like on and you should find your ideal pair.

It may seem like a whole lot of hassle searching for your perfect jeans but I can say it is really worth it when you find them and what a great feeling you will have when you first show off in your perfect pair of jeans.

Take one white tank top..........

A classic white tank top is a must have piece for your capsule wardrobe. I love this white pocket tank top from Alexander Wang. The material of this tank is a heavenly soft cotton and as it's made in a baggy fitting style it's really comfy on.

The best thing about a classic white tank top is that it really will go with everying and being so versatile, you can easily transfer this from a day-time casual look to a night-time dressy look with a little help with some nice jewellery and teaming the whole look with heels!

I've picked out some individual pieces that I would team my vest with (as pictured above).
Here's what I selected:-

J Brand Houlihan Jeans - cargo jeans have taken over from the Boyfriend and skinny jeans. These jeans have had a cult following amongst many celebs and it's no wonder why as these are gorgeous. They are perfect for wearing on a summers day with your tank top, aviator sunglasses and sandals or by simply adding some amazing costume jewels and heels you are good to go partying in! These jeans are available in tons of different colours so you will be spoiled for choice with these.

Elizabeth and James Blazer - Blazers are a must-have. Perfect for workwear and playwear this will see you out from the office to the cocktail bar. I would through this on over my tank top and cargo jeans for shopping with friends. Adding the 'wow' factor to this classic black blazer sees these heavily embellished shoulder pads, the layers of glam gold beading will be sure to make you stand out from the crowd!

Marc by Marc Jacobs sandals - the jelly sandal trend has came back fromretirement and it looks like it's here to stay for a little while longer. All I can say is super stylish and comfy, and I just love this moss green shade. These sandals are perfect with little floaty tea dresses, maxi dresses, safari shorts, cargo / skinny jeans and the list could go on........ basically these will look great with everything so they really are worth investing in!

Les Chiffoniers Suede zip leggings - These truly are the creme-de-la-creme of the leggings world. You may think these look like another pair of plain black leggings but let me tell you they are more than that. These suede leggings are "designed to mould to and enhance your form" so they really are works of art!

L.A.M.B suede wedges - designed by the gorgeous Gwen Stefani herself these wedges are gorgeous. Wedges are taking over from the platforms and with these dusky rose pink wedges you will hot to trott. This soft pink tone will look amazing against the classic black and the current seasons shades of khaki greens and greige (across between grey and beige)!

Gorjana Peacock earrings - To add the perfect finishing touch to any outfit you always need to dress it with some amazing jewels. These earrings are just beautiful and the warm yellow gold shade makes me think of summertime and wearing them with my floaty maxi dresses on the beach.......ahhh!

Giles and Brother necklace - A classic 3-tiered necklace that will finish off your day or night-time look.

If you are going for bold chunky jewels then it's mainly best to stick to either the earrings or the necklace. Wearing heavy earrings and a chunky necklace can be too much so wear one at a time and save the other for the next time! Just remember the golden rule with oversizes jewels, "less is more"

So, with summer just around the corner, if you haven't already got your classic white tank top then what are you waiting for?
