Back to Basics

Zara skirt with hip detail - the colour is called "make-up" which I though was cute!

Zara blouse with gold stud shoulder detail

Zara linen-mix tee with jewel shoulder detail

Zara drawstring leopard print trousers
Zara basic black sandal - at £29.99 these are a bargain!
Zara silk back jumper - love the little silk peter pan collar on this

Zara silky lingerie style shorts with rose-gold stud detail

I must confess, I am addicted to Zara!! Hands down, it has to be my favourite high street store.
Anytime I go into Zara, without fail, I'll see loads of things love and take the maximum amount I can into the changing room. To be fair mind you, sometimes the things I love, I don't love so much on as I thought I did seeing it on the hanger.

Above is some of my latest Zara purchases. I'm not afraid of colour and have a closet full of brights, neons.... the whole colour spectrum, but lately I've been more attracted to buying neutral, capsule collection pieces that I can mix and match.

The only thing I don't like about Zara is that sometimes new things will sell out fast and not come back in stock, for example, I've been after a pair of high-waisted white shorts with gold zips and have been hunting for them for weeks now but can never find them! A kind store assistant, wrote the code down for me so now it's a case of a daily check on the website to see if they appear again.

Today, I saw a beautiful lime green suede over-sized clutch bag but there was only one and it was marked. I went to order it online and they only have it in yellow or blue so this is another thing I need to keep hunting for!

Remember these Louis Vuitton pumps with the metal covered toe detail?

Check out these almost identical Zara beauties:-

These shoes are simply stunning! They are the like a pale blush pink shade and feel like soft suede and cost £49.99 but they sold out almost immediately!  Love these, perfect and classic!

I'm looking forward to wearing all my new stuff and teaming the neutrals with pops of colour like my neon yellow Cambridge Co Satchel or my bright blue J Brand skinny jeans etc

Happy shopping xx

My next purchase?

I had a look in Zara yesterday lunchtime and was drawn to these gorgeous canary yellow sandals. These would look great with blue skinny jeans and a floaty silk blouse in the summertime.

These sandals are pretty comfy on as they are well padded on the inside and the on trend platform nicely balances out the chunky high heel making them ok for walking in.

At £49.99 they are a good bargain so I had better get them quick before they are sold out!

Runwaydreamz

I just discovered runwaydreamz.com
Using vintage denim, runwaydreamz creates bespoke designed cut-off shorts. From American flag print, tiedye, leopard print to heavily studded, each pair is totally a one-off piece.

I do, love them all but my fave is the both the America flag print and the technicolour studded shorts.

Prices start from $142+ and with worldwide shipping, no-one will miss out on owning a pair of these super cool shorts. The American Flag print shorts I love best work out at around £115 which includes tax and shipping, but for a one-of-a-kind piece like these it is worth it!

For those of you who love the idea of these but don't want to splurge out, Topshop  do currently have some similar style shorts that will set you back a reasonable £25+

To make your Topshop shorts more unique, you could customize them by adding studs, or shread the denim by using a cheese grater.

Beautiful in Brights

Stella Mccartney

Stella Mccartney

Giuseppe Zanotti - love the spikes on the toes!!

Alice & Olivia

Rag & Bone

I can't help but smile when I look at these stunning pieces. When I see bright shades I think of the summer time when it's lovely and warm and when I can leave the umbrella at home!

To play it safe, wear one statement bright piece or teaming two contrasting but complementing pop shades together will also look great.

Bring on the summer!!!!

J Brand Brights

The J Brand bright jeans have only just been released in the U.K this week and they are already selling out! If you are looking to update your jeans to one of these pop colours then get them while you can!

I have to have the best mum in the whole world as she got me a pair of the Royal Blue J Brand jeans sent over from a boutique in America for part of my birthday gift! My jeans arrived yesterday (super fast delivery) and I love them on! They are super skinny so fit like a glove and the colour is just perfect! I cannot wait to wear these jeans.
These jeans are the perfect length too, look amazing with heels, tucked into ankle boots or with flats.

I do have to admit that I love my Royal Blue jeans so much that I'm thinking about getting a Bright Red pair too!!! I suppose I should order them quick before my size sells out!

Colour Blocking

Colour Blocking is a must for Spring/Summer 2011.
Try to stick with just two contrasting colours so you don't end up looking like a clown!

If the thought of bright colour contrasting scares you, ease yourself in to the look by simply teaming either a classic black or cream top or bottom with a bright pop colour.
For the more adventurous of you, go all out and team bright blues with yellows, pinks and oranges.
